어린시절 유럽으로 떠나 프랑스 파리에서 피아노를 공부했다.
성인이 된 후 한국으로 돌아와 작곡가이자 뮤지션으로 활동하고 있다.
가장 오래된 전자악기 테레민을 국내 최초로 연주하며 비물리적 음역대의 사운드를 연구했다.
최근에는 크리스탈싱잉볼, 차크라싱잉볼, 코시차임 등 명상 악기를 활용해 음악세계를 확장하고 있다.
또한 사운드스케이프를 통해 소리를 채집하고 작곡에 응용하는 사운드 아티스트로 활동 중이다.
When Monla was young, she moved to Paris, France to study classical piano music.
After graduation from École Normale de Musique de Paris, Monla has been working as a composer and musician in South Korea.
She became the first Thereminist(an electronic musical instrument controlled without physical contact by the performer) in South Korea and has researched on the sound of non-physical sound bands for years.
For recent couple years, Monla has been playing meditative instruments such as crystal singing bowls, Tibetan chakra bowls, and koshi chimes, and it has expanded her own music career into more various fields.
She also works as a sound artist through collecting sound using soundscape and applying it into composing.
